Freeride - Kirkwood 2*
January 25-26, 2025 - Sugar Bowl Freeride once again represented at Tahoe Freeride, Kirkwood 2*. Despite frigid temperatures and low snow levels, Kirkwood delivered the goods for a successful competition. Our U15 ladies came out of the gate swinging with our own Zia Kratzert climbing the ranks with a solid run claiming 5th place. Izzy McDonald is making a name for herself with aggressive airs, technical skiing and her third podium of the season, taking home 3rd place! Strong work ladies.
U15 boys followed suit with some very impressive runs and many top 10 finishes. In Panel A, Abram Scholnick (not pictured) earned a long time coming podium, claiming 5th place by attacking the fall line and putting on display all the hard work he’s been putting in. Our own Chancellor Donahue approached the day with grit and high speed skiing taking home the 4th place position!!

Rounding out the weekend in some of the coldest conditions we’ve ever competed in, our U19 boys were not deterred from pushing the limits of Freeride. Our rookie, Alejandro Salgado from Spain, absolutely slayed this venue earning himself his best career finish in 5th place. Henry Cutler put down an insane line with high flying moves, strong technical skiing and a style unmatched by anyone else. Judges agreed, rewarding Henry with the 1st place position for the weekend. Great job boys!
