Snowboard - Kirkwood and Sierra at Tahoe

January 25-26, 2025 - Our Freeride snowboard athletes did not shy away from competition this weekend. We had kids all over South Lake Tahoe showing off their skills in different disciplines. I love to see our shredders conquering USASA GS, Slalom, park, and big mountain riding and they’re  doing that very thing!

Owen Squires did not shy away from the steeps of Thunder Saddle at the Kirkwood 2*. Although it was sub-zero wind chill, Owen brought the heat and lit that course on fire, starting out the U15 boys. This little man battled 50mph winds and could’ve been blown off the mountain, but his strong skills attacked the fall line earning himself a 9th place finish.

Representing Sugar Bowl Academy snowboard at Sierra at Tahoe USASA GS and Slalom events was Brynn Borisoff and Payton Borisoff. Both siblings put it down in their respective ways by showcasing speed, technique and passion. Brynn brought home the 4th place finish in GS and Slalom and Payton with the 2nd place medals for both GS and Slalom. Way to gooooooo Borisoff Fam!!
