Located at Lake Tahoe, California, Sugar Bowl Academy is a fully accredited college preparatory high school for competitive skiers. It's a world-class ski academy for Alpine, Nordic and Freeride athletes.

STAYING IN BALANCE.

Juggling a full college preparatory course load while training and competing at the highest levels is no easy task  — that’s the nature of a ski academy. But the good news is we understand this, so we make sure that the academic and athletic peaks won't coincide.

A FULL CALENDAR YEAR

2023 - 2024 Sugar Bowl Academy Calendar

While the academic year runs from August to June, our calendar actually runs the entire year, from June to June, and is designed around your training and competition schedules. Rigorous college preparatory course loads in the fall and spring are reduced during the winter months to accommodate your training and travel demands.

Similarly, our daily schedules are designed to facilitate your academic, athletic, and personal growth. In the fall and spring, your seven-hour academic day is broken up by two conditioning sessions; during the winter, you'll ski for three to four hours before four to five hours of academic work.

FALL AND SPRING SCHEDULE

In the fall and spring, the day starts with a 60 to 90-minute conditioning session followed by classes, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays a second 2-hour conditioning session. The morning conditioning sessions are held in two blocks.

WINTER SCHEDULE

During the winter months (November 27 - March 29th), we have a unique schedule, ideal for on-snow training, designed to complement our rigorous academic demands.
