Located at Lake Tahoe, California, Sugar Bowl Academy is a fully accredited college preparatory high school for competitive skiers. It's a world-class ski academy for Alpine, Nordic and Freeride athletes.

THE MOST CROSS COUNTRY IN THE COUNTRY.

When you're training to compete at the collegiate level or to make the U.S. Ski Team, you need a lot of land. And we have it. More than any other school in North America.

Yes, you can expect lots of training—all based on your individual needs. Thanks to our location, your training starts right outside the school on the Royal Gorge Cross-Country Resort trails. Here, you can choose your path. And have all the space you need to explore it.

Cross-country

The team trains together year-round and often joins other clubs and teams for training sessions and camps. Team training camps include Fall dryland in the Eastern Sierra and Park City, UT, on-snow in Canmore, Alberta, and a summer camp on the California Coast. In addition, we regularly send athletes to the Western Regional Elite Group camp and the USSA National U16 camp. The race schedule includes opportunities at US Nationals, Western Super JNQ, Spring Series, December SuperTours, and our FarWest Regional Qualifiers.

BIATHLON

Our Biathlon program is run in conjunction with the Auburn Ski Club Training Center. Our coaches work together with ASCTC coaches to provide SBSTA athletes the opportunity to practice their shooting 3 times per week and to attend multiple training camps that target pursuing their biathlon goals. Biathletes will have the opportunity to race locally, regionally, and nationally.
