Team Jackets, Hoodies, and T-Shirts

We have jackets, hoodies, and t-shirts ready for pickup! All SBA athletes receive a jacket, hoodie, and t-shirt this year. Pickup is upstairs in Village Hall. Just a reminder: we are doing our best to get every athlete the size they requested or one size larger, and we are extremely limited in our ability to provide an alternate size without putting another athlete in a jacket that is 2-3 sizes too big. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

Village Hall Lockers Available

We still have a few standard size lockers available in Village Hall for the 2025 season. Lockers are $805 for the season. Purchase Locker

Cross Country

Anton Zhiganov officially joined our team as our new Head Cross Country Coach on December 3. Our new coach brings a wealth of experience and a passion for nurturing young athletes. We are confident that his leadership will have a positive impact on our cross country program and further enhance the opportunities and experiences we offer to our athletes. Teams will start next Saturday, December 14 at 9 am at Royal Gorge. Anton will share additional details later this week.

Kevin Sawchuk will also be joining our team as a cross country coach.

Our Cross Country FIS Men kick off their competitive season in Jackson Hole next weekend.

Freeride

We commenced training at our beloved home mountain last week. It has been an amazing start to the season. With the entire mountain open and skiing very well, we’ve had a taste of all conditions. Whether we’re ripping “low-tide” lines on wintery snow in Silver Belt, or smearing corn turns on South Disney, our goal has been competition focus and prep. With only a few weeks left until our first stop of the Tahoe Junior Freeride series here at Sugar Bowl, our student athletes are taking advantage of the conditions to hone in their skills and start mentally preparing for their season debut on our home turf. Big shout out to ALL of our Freeriders for their continued hard work and determination for a successful season ahead.

Junior 3* competition registrations opened last Friday. You should all know the plan and be registered for your preferred events.

Sugar Bowl Junior 2* opens this coming Wednesday, December 11 at 6pm sharp! Unlike the 3* registrations, the 2* Registrations are time stamped and you’ll need to be ready to register at 5:50pm with your memberships secured well beforehand, regardless of your “Point Standings/Seeding”. We will put a reminder out on Wednesday prior to registration opening.

24’/25’ Tahoe Freeride Competition/Registration Schedule

As always, please reach out with any questions as we know the registration process can be stressful and overwhelming. Let’s be prepared!! Thanks for a great week and keep up the hard work, you rippin’ Freeriders!!!!

Academics

Juniors

This week, our SBA juniors were introduced to SCOIR (pronounced “score”), the college planning software we use to navigate the college admissions process.  Karen is available to meet with juniors and their parents/guardians in person or via Zoom to explain the college process as soon as the college surveys are completed.

Seniors

College acceptances are starting to arrive, and we will be displaying the logos of these colleges in the Academy building. We will also be keeping track of the Class of 2025 scholarship totals. We are so excited to see what the future holds for our seniors!
