While Ski Team and Academy tuition and fees make up a majority of the budget, roughly $700,000 comes from fundraising. Each year, we have several initiatives that help bridge the gap between dues and tuition and actual program expenses. We hope that each family will give at a level that is meaningful to them and we do expect everyone to participate.
The Annual Fund is our most important fundraising campaign. Each year, all parents, Trustees and staff are asked to contribute to the Annual Fund, which is crucial to make up the difference between revenues and operating expenses. In addition to providing essential revenue, a broadly supported Annual Fund demonstrates a commitment to our community and sends a powerful message to outside corporations, foundations, major donors and friends who also support our organization. Because 100% participation by our community is essential for securing other sources of funding, we expect every family to donate.
Ask your employer if they will match your donation!

Our Silver Belt Calcutta Auction/Dinner and Silver BeltRace, held annually during Presidents' Week, is a great opportunity to connect with fellow community members.
The festivities begin on Saturday evening with cocktails, appetizers, dinner, silent and live auctions, as well as an opportunity to bid on your favorite team (comprised of current and former student-athletes, parents, teachers and former World Cup racers) that will compete for glory in Sunday's Silver Belt Ski Race. Should your team be victorious, you'll earn some of your winning bid back.
This is one of our major fundraising initiatives and provides critically important scholarship assistance and program support for our student-athletes.
The Village Ball is a culinary event for the Sugar Bowl Homeowner community held annually during the Holidays.

Donating Goods or Services
A donation of needed goods or services may qualify as a gift-in-kind. Examples are printing services, landscaping and some equipment. Please contact us at 530.269.7401 or email@example.com to inquire about current needs.
We also accept gifts of used automobiles valued at $2,500 or more and will pick-up and do all the work to sell it. Please consult your tax advisor for more information on maximizing your vehicle contribution.
Giving to the community isn't always monetary. Volunteering your time, energy and talents is just as important. All families who live within 500 miles are expected to volunteer 20 hours as part of enrollment in the Academy.
There are plenty of opportunities. Race volunteer duties include gate keeping, backup timing or scoreboard recording — no prior experience or skiing skills required. Parent "sweepers" help our Mini Mite and Mighty Mite coaches with the safe loading and unloading of our athletes on the chairlift. You can help with set up and clean up for lunch or any of the other school or team functions in the Great Room of Village Hall. We need parents to help cover shifts in the residential hall, help with mailings or engage in facilities maintenance.
