Paul grew up skiing in New Hampshire at Gunstock Mountain. After ski racing for ten years, he switched over to freestyle, competing in moguls, upright, and inverted aerials for the next four years. In 1999, Paul transitioned to freeride and worked full-time as a professional athlete for more than a decade. He traveled extensively, filming and shooting for about a dozen ski movies by Poor Boyz, TGR, Warren Miller, and more. He has also been published in Powder, Skiing, and Freeskier magazines, as well as several international publications. In addition to taking the AMGA Ski Guides course, as well as AIARE Level III Avalanche Training, Paul has coached freeride skiing for CU Boulder, Waterville Valley, and Empire Freeride Ski Camps. Paul began coaching at Sugar Bowl during the 2013-14 season.
