Nordic

The Sugar Bowl Academy Nordic Program is designed to provide world-class training and racing opportunities for Nordic skiers who wish to compete and excel at all levels of the sport, including USSA Junior Olympics, International competition, as well as the local CNISSF school race league. We provide the very best opportunities for each student-athlete to achieve their short-term and long-term goals.

The SBA Nordic program is built on individualized training for each athlete. With our younger athletes we typically focus on technical proficiency and developing natural speed. As athletes get older and more experienced, we continue to develop their endurance base and ensure that training and competition schedules are personalized. Race schedules, training plans, and equipment selection are all based on the needs of individuals. Goal setting and personal responsibility are integrated into the team philosophy, and the team works together to help each individual reach their personal goals and potential.

The team trains together year-round and often joins other clubs and teams for training sessions and camps. Team training camps include Fall dryland on the California Coast, on-snow in West Yellowstone, and one summer camp. In addition, SBA regularly sends athletes to the Western Regional Elite Group camp, USSA National U16 camp, USBA Development camps, and others. The race schedule varies from year-to-year, but will include opportunities at US Nationals, Western Super JNQ, and other regional races in the West.
