On May 21, led by the 11th and 12th grade boys' advisory, Sugar Bowl Academy students, staff, parents and friends took part in the 3rd annual 117-mile Lake Tahoe Century Ride, raising $6,000 in the process.
The 117-mile Lake Tahoe Century is split up into seven legs around the lake and serves as a community builder as well as a fundraiser for both Sugar Bowl Academy and the World Bicycle Relief, a Chicago based non-profit organization "dedicated to providing access to independence and livelihood through the Power of Bicycles." The legs range in difficulty, and riders can choose the number of laps they make around the beautiful Lake Tahoe. With a full support squad of support riders, pit stops, and sag wagons, the ride makes it possible for any student to participate.
