Wizards and Witches Win Spirited "Trail Mix" Community Relay

Was it sorcery, or overwhelming mental and physical agility and endurance?

Team Wizards and Witches took first place Saturday at Parents' Weekend's spirited Trail Mix Community Relay, besting a field of twelve strong Fighting Marmot teams. Wizards and Witches was comprised of coach Bryce Hubner, parents Anita Weemaes (Pieter, '14) and Ann Marie Louis (Haley, '17), and students Carly Gradeff ('17) and Ben Weisel.

This year's Trail Mix - mixing teachers, parents, students, and coaches on teams competing in relay format to test their mental and physical agility, speed, and endurance - will likely best be remembered for the elaborate obstacle course engineered by the ninth and tenth-grade advisory groups. The theme costumes, too, made the second annual event quite the spectacle. From Wizards and Witches, Cavemen, Ballet, Hillbillies, Superheroes, Nerds, and Disco, each team appeared to fully and enthusiastically embrace its assigned theme, making it feel as though Halloween had come early to SBA. Thank you to the ninth and tenth-grade advisees for all they did to make the 2013 Trail Mix such a tremendous success, and to all the relay participants and volunteers.
